Job Summary
The Registered Nurse will develop and maintain an effective, system-wide infection control program within the facility. Monitors and evaluates prevalence of healthcare associated infections. Supports teamwork essential for compliance accrediting and regulatory agency standards through surveillance, effective prevention and control activities specific to a variety of practice settings, and accurate report. Assists in developing and implementing program initiative, policies, and education related to infection prevention for employees and clients/patients.
Operating as well as the Facility Nurse Educator (FNE) is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating relevant educational sessions and curricula (skills-based and knowledge based) to nursing and client care staff. This responsibility includes incorporating evidenced-based research into evidenced-based practices, accounting for AAC standards, accrediting bodies of Joint Commission and/or CARF, and state regulations. The FNE will collaborate with the medical department, therapy department, nursing department and others to incorporate nursing processes into the plan of care for our patient population. This role includes provision of both classroom and real-time clinical learning opportunities for new healthcare team members and existing healthcare team members. Additionally, the FNE will coordinate with other Facility and Corporate staff as needed to review, develop, and implement changes to; policies and procedures, electronic health records, and job-aids.
