Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Director, Facilities Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing all operational aspects of all facilities and program needs including housekeeping, laundry, food services, transportation, maintenance, and grounds keeping departments.  Responsible for developing and implementing policy and procedures in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and codes.  Ensuring the safety, upkeep, maintenance and aesthetic quality of all physical assets.  Responsible for hiring, training and terminating operations staff.  Ensure all annual and regular permitting and regulatory compliance parameters are met as required.  Responsible for contracting outside professional service contractors as needed.  Ensures compliance with all state licensure and credentialing standards and regulations for physical plant and operations of a substance abuse treatment facility.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement all operational policy and procedure in coordination with multi-disciplinary leaders and facility CEO.
  • Oversees maintenance of facility to meet client comfort and regulatory standards.
  • Oversees vehicle maintenance of company vehicles to ensure top performance, longevity, and ensure client safety.
  • Inspects facility for all needs and repairs, overseeing the contracting of plumbing and maintenance repairs.
  • Implements on-going rounds in conjunction with direct reports to achieve facility goals, especially those related to client safety and quality of care.
  • Maintains monthly inspections of fire alarms and fire extinguishers.
  • Responsible for daily correspondence and delegation of all facility emails.
  • Provides oversight for facility meeting state and federal licensing and code requirements.
  • Ensure facility is kept clean and attractive
  • Approve/modify housekeeping supply orders as necessary.
  • Maintain daily log of all admits and discharges as needed.
  • Provide guidance on hiring, training, evaluating and management of all operational staff. 
  • Available to be on call 24/7 for emergencies.
  • Oversee all transportation needs.
  • Supervises all food orders while maintaining budget.
  • Ensure adequate stock of all operational supplies.
  • Obtain and effectively manage all external professional contractors as needed.
  • Attend meetings as required and is Chair Safety Committee
  • Ensure compliance with all facility permits, regulatory requirements pursuant to federal, state, and local regulations as well as CARF requirements.
  • Purchase all physical assets and resources or tools as needed for operations activities and functions.
  • Ensure all operational staff complies with policies and requirements.
  • Address any grievances or complaints from community.
  • Participate in staff development activities.
  • Other duties as assigned by CEO within the scope of the position.
  • Responsible and accountable for managing direct reports.
  • Preparation and presentation of performance evaluations.
  • Provides objective feedback to employees.
  • Makes appropriate compensation recommendations, if applicable.
  • Provides appropriate training and continuing education for department and hold staff accountable for attending required training.
  • Holds interviews for vacant positions and makes appropriately selects candidates to fill open positions.
  • Responsible for recommending and ensuring regulatory staffing patterns and managing annual budget.
  • Monitors adherence to company and department policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Creates and supports a positive, professional, team-oriented, harassment free work environment by understanding and complying with the company’s policies.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Five years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, construction, and ADA compliance.
  • Three to five years’ experience in healthcare facility maintenance. 
  • Joint Commission expertise. 
  • 2 years supervision experience.
  • Age 25 required by insurance carrier.
  • Must have an acceptable MVR and be willing to obtain a Class B license.
  • Customer service driven with a genuine interest in the well-being of those we serve.
  • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
