The Treatment Advocate Supervisor oversees a team of treatment advocates who support clients in a
drug/alcohol detox facility and recovery programs. This role provides guidance, support, and advocacy
to ensure clients receive optimal treatment throughout their recovery process. The supervisor is
responsible for managing the team, training advocates, coordinating with healthcare professionals, and
ensuring quality care while adhering to program policies and regulations.
Staff Supervision and Development:
● Supervise a team of Treatment Advocates and Drivers, assign work details/cases, provide
feedback, coaching, and conduct performance evaluations.
● Ensures direct reports are current with required documents, daily documentation, trainings, and
competencies.
● Generate the monthly staffing schedule and adhere to facility staffing ratio policies.
● Monitor adherence to regulatory staffing patterns and manage the annual budget, on a weekly
basis, with an action plan if staffing above or below expectation.
● Address staff concerns and provide conflict resolution support.
● Facilitate cross-training of Driver Staff to allow for staff to function as a Treatment Advocate
during time of no drives, budget/staffing permitting.
● Conduct interviews for vacant positions and recommend candidates for selection.
● Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and practices.
● Foster a positive, professional, team-oriented, harassment-free work environment.
● Ensure all drivers have valid authority to drive in the State & have the appropriate insurance
designation as per Corporate Policy.
Client Support and Oversight:
● Supervise client activities, always ensuring client safety and whereabouts, including breaks and
internal activities.
● Attend mandatory trainings and conferences as directed by the supervisor.
● Engage clients in therapeutic activities as appropriate.
● Provide an overview of the housing program to each new client regarding rules, procedures, and
services.
● Ensure clients comply with program rules and maintain order in the facility.
● Monitor clients for signs of medical distress or behavioral concerns, document findings, and
perform routine bed checks.
● Provide support and structure for clients in their recovery, offering ongoing interaction.
● Ensure timely wake-up and bedtime for clients, and accompany them on shopping trips,
recreation, medical appointments, and meetings.
● Enforce program rules and maintain confidentiality standards, including distributing daily mail.
● Maintain accurate records for every client, update bed lists for timely admissions and
discharges, and report discrepancies in clients' whereabouts to the supervisor/manager.
● Respond to medical and other emergencies as needed.
● Oversee the safe operation of company vehicles and transportation of clients as directed by the
administration team.
● Conduct searches of client bags upon admission, confiscate contraband, and report findings to
the appropriate supervisor/manager.
● Perform random inspections of client rooms, common areas, hallways, and bathrooms at regular
intervals.
● Ensure thorough shift reports are completed, and timekeeping is accurate.
● Act as a liaison to ensure all clients receive ordered diets, and ensure these diets are removed
upon discharge of the diet or patient.
Other Duties:
● Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor/manager.
