Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Regional Quality Assurance (QA) Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and improving patient care and services within the assigned region.

This position is responsible for leading multiple large-scale, Quality Assurance (QA) and Performance Improvement (PI) initiatives. The Regional QA Director works closely with the Corporate Director of Quality, the Regional QA Coordinator and other facility leadership to improve patient safety, documented quality of care, operational systems and processes, risk management, and treatment outcomes.

This position will monitor and provide guidance regarding opportunities for organization-wide improvements based on evidence-based practices, regulatory and accrediting agency requirements, and data analysis of high-risk, high-volume, and/or problem-prone processes.

The Regional QA Director is responsible for negotiating timelines and priorities for QA/PI projects, corrective action plans, monitoring, analyzing, tracking, and trending data or results of improvement initiatives that are consistent with the organization's quality and strategic goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct and support assigned programs in achieving and maintaining Ongoing Survey Readiness.
  • Work closely with program staff to promote a culture of safety and quality.
  • Work with system-wide subject matter experts to create, implement and update standardized policies, plans, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Instrumental in establishing quality benchmark standards for the highest achievable standards of care, based on, but not limited to, regulatory standards, payor requirements, accreditation surveys, and AAC policies.
  • Working with system-wide subject matter experts, actively lead all aspects of the regional quality assurance/improvement initiatives and projects, including departmental chart audits and reviews, incident reviews and analysis, development of corrective action plans from critical incident analysis, risk management, and performance improvement initiatives, patient satisfaction, patient and payor concerns, and grievances focused on maintaining regulatory and accreditation survey readiness.
  • Working with identified program resources, coordinating, monitoring, and updating facility environment of care and safety plans, infection control plans, disaster preparedness, and any other program which connects with the quality of care delivered by AAC facilities.
  • As a directing lead and contributor, work with functional areas and program committees; not limited to QA/PI, safety, governing body, and individual departments to ensure conformance with the payor, regulatory, and accreditation standards of care, with the goal to achieve the highest achievable quality of care. At a minimum, conduct at least one Quality Assurance / Performance Improvement meeting each month for each assigned regional program.
  • Consults and develops quality audits, controls, and mechanisms to help with the evaluation of services deliverables which may be regional and/or system-wide corporate QA/PI initiatives.
  • The regional QA director is instrumental in the aggregation of QA/PI data and drafting contributor system-wide reports including the QA Dashboard.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree preferred, in Healthcare Administration, Psychology, Counseling, or equivalent.
  • Experience in management within the substance use or behavioral healthcare industry.
  • Current knowledge of state and federal regulations and accreditation standards (CARF, TJC, etc.)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience dealing with data sets, designing and developing data extractions, analysis, and reporting tools/dashboards.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • If in personal recovery, a minimum of 2 years clean and sober.

 

Certifications and Licenses:

Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred
