Position Summary: To provide for safe, efficient, high quality patient care throughout the Hospital on assigned shift through efficient management of personnel and resources, supervision of clinical practice and education of unit staff.
Certification/Licensure: Licensed by the Board of Registration in Nursing in Massachusetts. National certification in the chemical dependency nursing encouraged. CPR & AED certified.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to manage and supervise staff, prioritize emergencies and respond appropriately, direct staff as needed to provide safe, efficient care, monitor other hospital services and assist administration as needed. Computer literacy - minimum of data entry skills.
Experience: Demonstrated experience as a charge nurse/nurse supervisor. Past supervisory experience in substance abuse or related field.
Supervision: Receives indirect or occasional supervision. Works towards a definite objective using a variety of methods or procedures. Plans and arranges own work and only refers to the supervisor for unusual matters, such as policy interpretations. Moderate flexibility.
Decision Making: Frequently makes decisions, which are restricted only by organization-wide policies and with little direct guidance from the supervisor.
Other: Must pass CORI check / OIG / GSA and pre-employment drug screen.
If in personal recovery, a minimum of three (3) years continuous abstinence required.
