Responsibilities

Position Summary

The company is seeking strategic and execution-focused Vice President of Digital Marketing to lead digital marketing operations, ensure strong team and vendor execution, and support census growth across a multi-site behavioral health network. This role serves as the primary point of digital marketing and is responsible for translating strategy into tactical execution. Further, this role will ensure continuous performance optimization of web assets and drive close collaboration with local facilities, business development teams, and call center agents to drive admission goals. The company mainly relies on organic web channels to drive lead generation; therefore, a key focus of this role will be website performance and SEO optimization.

 

This individual will be held accountable for top-of-funnel lead generation, conversion through admission and cost goals. The ideal candidate is a proven leader in data-driven performance marketing and brings a deep understanding of managing integrated campaigns that support complex service lines.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation Strategy, Campaign & Budget Management

  • Define lead generation strategy across channels to maximize qualified lead generation and minimize cost per acquisition.
  • Design campaign content strategy and campaign performance targets – lead volume, conversion and cost.
  • Coordinate with other marketing functions, such as PR / communications, to ensure campaigns and content align with our national brand identity, digital presence, and regional facility needs based on local market.
  • Develop, review and validate monthly performance reports, identifying risks and opportunities related to campaign performance, site health, and conversion flow.
  • Collaborate on a potential PPC roadmap and media strategy with agency partners; validate monthly spend utilization, campaign architecture, and ROI tracking.

Management & Performance Oversight

  • Act as day-to-day point of contact for internal team and external vendors, ensuring work aligns with strategic priorities and contractual SLAs across:
    • Website maintenance and optimization
    • SEO / content strategy
    • Local SEO (GBP optimization, citations, reviews)
    • Content development and governance
    • Lead form optimization and chatbot UX
    • Conversion tracking and attribution
    • Paid marketing campaigns execution and optimization on platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Hold team and vendors accountable to KPI and SLA targets, including website health indicators, content delivery timelines, and overall performance improvements.
  • Deliver quantifiable improvements in ROI and cost per conversion (CPA) across all channels.
  • Lead weekly, monthly, quarterly KPI and SLA reviews, with accountability for adjusting digital strategy based on evolving market dynamics and census goals.
  • Understand new and relevant metrics requirements for performance management and optimization purposes.
  • Identify marketing performance issues and pinpoint the root cause with help of analytical tools.
  • Effectively communicate complicated analyses by developing easy-to-use reporting or visualization dashboards (demand funnel, marketing planning and budgeting, marketing ROI, operational efficiency, campaign impact, awareness, events, and strategic KPIs).

Email / SMS Campaigns

  • Build, segment, and maintain distribution lists, ensuring compliance with marketing best practices and data privacy regulations.
  • Develop and execute email and SMS marketing campaigns, including designing compelling content and templates, writing copy, and scheduling sends.
  • Analyze email campaign performance using metrics like open rates, click-through rates, and conversions to identify areas for improvement and optimization.  
  • Work with marketing and sales teams to align email and SMS marketing efforts with overall business objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Maintain strong visibility into marketing’s role in the admissions pipeline, from first touchpoint through lead conversion.
  • Coordinate with local facility leaders to align digital strategy to changing census objectives.
  • Work with creative and marketing teams to test strategies and innovation.
  • Partner with Business Development and Call Center leadership to align digital marketing campaigns with operational capacity and ensure lead follow-through.
  • Drive lead attribution clarity by ensuring form and call routing integration with Salesforce CRM, CallRail, and Five9 is optimized and driving efficient workflows.
  • Ensure dataflows are consistent and compliant across platforms, enabling collaboration between vendor and IT teams.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in performance marketing, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role overseeing internal teams and external digital agencies or vendors.
  • Proven success managing integrated SEO, content, PPC, and conversion rate optimization efforts across multiple web properties.
  • Deep understanding of Google Analytics, CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), and call tracking platforms (CallRail, Five9).
  • Experience with HIPAA-compliant marketing practices and familiarity with healthcare, especially behavioral health marketing preferred.
  • Strong quantitative skills – ability to derive actionable insights from marketing data and communicate to both executive and operational stakeholders.
  • Exceptional project management and vendor accountability skills
  • Ability to operate with urgency, autonomy, and a performance-driven mindset
