Job Summary:

American Addiction Centers is revolutionizing the addiction treatment industry and elevating the quality of digital resources for those struggling with substance abuse and addiction.  We're looking for a Director of Audience Engagement is a well-rounded, data-driven individual who will drive audience scale and engagement across all social platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat) and drive strategic content marketing campaigns for lead generation and brand awareness. In this role, you will be charged with developing a clear, coherent strategy to accelerate our digital growth and will have the operational ability to take big ideas and execute them to achieve meaningful results. The ideal candidate for this role is a hands-on, KPI-focused individual who likes to iterate their way to success. He or she is well-versed in the world of paid acquisition and has the ability to build comprehensive ROI-models to ensure we are driving traffic through the most efficient channels possible. This role has direct oversight over our social media and content marketing teams, and is based in our San Diego office.


Reports To: Senior Vice President of Brand and Communication


Job Duties:

  • Social Media: Lead a team in facilitating audience growth (both paid and organic) across social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and support ideation and execution of successful YouTube strategy
  • Content Marketing: Oversee a team executing strategic content marketing campaigns that facilitate growth in engagement and subscriber base, as well as lead generation
  • Analytics: Successfully monitor, analyze, and identify changes in daily traffic and engagement and provide clear, insightful reporting on key performance metrics, including lead generation and branding, on a regular basis in order to translate user response data into actionable insights
  • Collaboration: Working closely with every team in the organization including Editorial, Analytics, SEO, Market Research, Business Development, Product, Design, and PR teams


Job Requirements:

  • 5-7 years in digital marketing, preferably in Media or Publishing, with proven experience building brands
  • healthy obsession with social media and all emerging platforms
  • Expertise leveraging site analytics tools
  • Fluency in social and advertising platforms including: Facebook & Facebook Ads Manager, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, Twitter
  • Comfortable and excited about ideating and building campaigns from scratch
  • Candidates in recovery must have 2+ years of sobriety.
