Overview

Job Summary:

The Senior Experience Designer (Sr.XD) is a design position that creates, maintains, and promotes cohesive high-end branding, product design, UI design, and UX strategies across our web properties. In order to do this effectively, one must consider all aspects of the user experience based on quantitative and qualitative data. The Sr.XD will then be able to make data-informed design decisions that translate complex concepts into stunning yet effortless user experiences. Collaborating with our talented team of stakeholders, designers, and developers, will be critical to evolving current properties, products, and creating new ones. Will collaborate with and mentor other Experience Designers, enabling them to elevate their own creative efforts, technical skills, and processes when designing for Recovery Brands properties and products.  The position will explore many different approaches to solve User Experience issues within our properties and will be responsible for creating visually stunning and effective User Interfaces utilizing their top-notch abilities in illustration, color, composition, and iconography. It will require the individual to be innovative, agile, flexible, resourceful and collaborative with the ability to turn around projects on short time lines where needed.

Responsibilities

Job Duties:

  • Planning: Defines interaction models, user task flows, and UI specifications, developing user personas, wireframes, behavioral specifications, and mockups as needed in order to spec design projects
  • Planning: Research and develop strategies and plans which identify conversion rate improvement opportunities, user behavior/experience improvement opportunities, and other user interface improvements; implementing such strategies
  • Planning - IA: Research and address the information architecture has a solid foundation by analyzing core templates, subdomains, decision trees, user flows, and entry/exit points
  • Planning - Ideation: Plan, conceptualize, and experiment of layout of block component wireframes. Create feature component wireframes that visually depict individual components of the UI, details of copy, and beginnings of styling
  • Planning - Communication: Effectively communicates scenarios, end-to-end experiences, interaction models and screen designs to internal stakeholders
  • Prioritizes and manages work to adhere to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaboration/Communication: Contribute to both departmental and interdepartmental discussions
  • Collaboration/Communication: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional Design team, presenting and explaining design ideas and decisions, clearly, persuasively and succinctly
  • Mastery: Acts as the “go to” UX leader with in-depth knowledge of user interface best practices and standards. Use research-related services, theories, and methods to support any recommendations
  • Support: Provides guidance, support, and insight to department members to improve team morale, productivity, and daily workflow
  • Design: Explores color theory/system, identifies tone/wording, and identifies elements for projected impact and marketing outlets
  • Design: Creates high fidelity & interactive prototypes that incorporate CTA systems, page styling, shortcodes, animation transitions, button states, sticky elements and their behaviours in Invision
  • Design: Creates stunning visual design regardless of the medium that shows off top-notch abilities in illustration, color, composition and iconography
  • Design: Creates a cohesive style guide and ensures that a consistent design language is applied across each brand. Maintains the consistency in the visual elements, iconography, patterns, and behaviors
  • Initiates, suggests, and spearheads major UI re-evaluations for a more intuitive user-experience
  • Assist the Content Creative Team as required for other design projects, such as infographics, long form articles, and rich media pieces
  • Utilize standard UX principles and data informative design to advise and assist the Optimization Team as required for testing variations. Including but not limited to call-to-actions, typography, color theory, information architecture and page layouts

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Design digital experiences that problem solve as well as engage users.
  • 4+ years in an Information Architect, User Interface, or User Experience role.
  • Highly skilled ninja in Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Invision, and/or other design tools.
  • Effectively collaborate with Experience Designers, Developers, Researchers, and other key stakeholders.
  • Vast knowledge of user experience trends, user behaviors, and web/mobile patterns.
  • Experience on the front line, gathering intel from user testing and/or usability testing sessions.
  • Create functional prototypes.
  • Knowledge of Figma, Axure, Origami, Avocode, and UXPin.
  • Candidates in recovery must have 2+ years of sobriety.
