Responsibilities

Job Summary

Oversees all aspects of clinical operations within the Counseling, Case managers, and TA's. Plans and forecasts safe staffing ratios for the year, while tracking census and budgetary needs. Presented themselves as the voice of all Clinical Service functions, while collaborating with AAC counterparts to expand clinical service lines and implement best practices throughout inpatient services. Promotes quality services in all interactions, with high visibility throughout the hospital and across the AAC organization. The Clinical Director will be well versed in regulatory standards including BSAS, DPH, TJC, and ASAM. Uphold the spirit of a collaborative clinical partner to all other multidisciplinary team members; working closely with admissions, nursing, medical, dietary, plant operations, and outpatient. This position ensures that services foster an atmosphere of customer service and excellence. Ensures Service departments are staffed with highly trained individuals and proficient in the delivery of clinical services. Participates in the Administrative on Call Rotation monthly. Ensures excellent quality relationships with strategic partnerships and vendors. The Clinical Director embraces the foundational spirit of placing the needs of the department and employees as a strategic priority, working closely with the COO/CEO on all clinically driven initiatives for the organization, locally and nationally. The Clinical Director is a progressive thinker who is self-motivated to drive quality metrics, with autonomy while practicing ethically and delivering measurable clinical outcomes that supports the success of patients and meeting financial needs.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides consistent supervision to direct reports Case managers/Treatment advocates/clinicians
  • Maintains high level professionalism at all times as a representative of the CEO, AdCare brand and AAC
  • Must be dependable, reliable, constant with scheduling, managing all direct reports PTO in partnership coverage 7 days a week
  • Provides departmental oversight to Counseling, Care managers and Treatment advocates 
  • Responsible for fiscal planning and budgeting
  • Prepared annual insurance quality improvement plans
  • Oversight of TJC regulatory monitors
  • Oversight of BSAS regulatory programing requirements
  • Implements evidence based clinical programming
  • Maintains integrity and responsibility for all Services 
  • Participates in daily flash meetings, leadership, and assigned committees
  • Collaborates with ED on programing changes
  • Liaison with families of Patients as request during intake, treatment, and discharge planning.
  • Responsible and accountable for managing direct reports
  • Must be reliable with attendance and punctuality
  • Frequently provides on call support for off hours and on weekends
  • Able to multitask major projects and initiatives
  • Maintains excellent boundaries will colleagues and patients
  • Able to present themselves with emotional maturity, utilizing political savvy in high pressure situations
  • Able to respond timely to email, text, and calls as needed
  • Ensures clinical services are delivered ensuring fidelity to AdCare’s clinical plan, philosophy, model, design, and methodology
  • Ensures patients are admitted into the appropriate modality and that their length of stay is individualized based on their clinical needs and treatment plan.
  • Works closely with the director of outpatient services to ensure a seamless continuum of care within AdCare’s various treatment modalities
  • Demonstrates mastery knowledge with respect to the clinical standards of DPH, BSAS, Joint and other governing entities and ensures their requirements are reflected in daily clinical practice within the program
  • In collaboration with the ED implements assigned QI (quality improvement) plans ensuring all data, reports, project updates and corrective action plans as they relate to clinical services are collected and submitted to QI within established timeframes.
  • Demonstrates excellent ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities and complete duties in the allotted time
  • Must maintain autonomy and independence with excellent ethical decision-making regarding patient care
  • Strictly adheres to HIPAA and confidentiality policies when responding to inquiries for patient information or copies of information.
  • Maintains expert knowledge of the programs’ emergency preparedness plan and emergency procedures
  • Participates in all required mandatory trainings
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Monitors adherence to company and department policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Treats patients, and colleagues with dignity and respect; honors each person’s right to privacy; maintains very strict patient and colleague confidentiality; respects all individual differences; supports cultural diversity.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, attending hospital sponsored CEU programs, etc. Provides documentation of CEUs at annual performance review.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in a behavioral sciences or mental health related field required, 5 years experience in a behavioral health setting
  • Professional licensure required.
  • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
  • Working knowledge of Google Products.

Certificates and Licenses:

LICSW, LMHC or LADC-1 (with Masters) required

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

Clinical Services: Counseling, Care Coordination (Case Management & Placement)

 

Other Work Requirements:

Participates as active member of specific task committees as delegated.

Consistently arrive for work on time and adhere to attendance policies.

Compensation Transparency: In accordance with the Massachusetts Pay Transparency Act, the reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position $96,050.66-$120,062.26 annually. Actual compensation within this range will depend on the candidate’s skills, experience, education, and relevant qualifications. Generally, placement within the upper portion of the range is reserved for candidates with several years of directly related experience or exceptional expertise.
