    Job Summary:

    The hotel front desk agent represents the first point of contact with guests and handles all stages of a guest's stay. Responsibilities include registering/booking guests in and out of their rooms, while accommodating any special requests.

     

    Reports To: Hotel Manager

    Responsibilities

    Job Duties:

    • Register hotel guests and assign rooms.
    • Thoroughly understand and adheres to proper credit and cash handling policies and procedures.
    • Understand room status and room status tracking.
    • Answer all incoming calls.
    • Know room locations, types of rooms available, room rates, as well as services and amenities offered.
    • Coordinate room status updates with the housekeeping department by notifying housekeeping of all check outs, late checkouts, early check-ins, special requests, and day use rooms.
    • Know how to use front office equipment.
    • Attend meetings as required.
    • Understand and follow policies related to reporting safety, emergencies, criminal activity, suspicious activity, etc.
    • Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager.
    • Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area.
    • Use Room Key property management system to properly register guests and properly collect payments for charges.
    • Generate guest folios and other necessary reports.
    • Reconcile cash account as needed.
    • Enter maintenance requests as needed.
    • Properly use PMS to make guest reservations.

    Qualifications

    Job Requirements:

    • High school diploma; Associates degree preferred
    • At least one year of hotel experience
    • At least one-year guest relations/customer service experience
    • Advanced ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions.
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • If in personal recovery, a minimum of 2 years clean and sober.
