    Job Summary:

     

    Under direction of the Clinical Director, the Nursing Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the detox facilities.  The nursing manager is responsible for managing and developing LPNs, as well as, collaborating with multidisciplinary team.  The primary role will be to oversee the detoxification process of clients to include both physical withdrawal and providing emotional support.

    Job Duties:

    • Assure quality of care by developing and interpreting Company philosophies and standards of care; enforce adherence to all regulatory and state agencies; measure health outcomes against standards; make or recommend adjustments as necessary.
    • Ensure medical/nursing activities and records are in adherence to Joint Commission, CARF and various state licensing and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain safe and clean work environment to ensure a safe environment for staff and clients.
    • Ensure HIPAA compliance by maintaining client confidentiality and protecting confidential information (PHI).
    • Maintain and audit client medical records by reviewing MARS, Intake packets for accuracy and completeness.
    • Assist with staff recruitment; ensure an orientation plan for new staff members, and provide timely feedback.
    • Evaluate nursing staff skill level and schedule in services/training as needed.
    • Schedule and assign nursing staff.
    • Maintain performance standards of nursing staff by coaching, counseling, disciplinary actions, and completing annual performance evaluations.
    • Provide dotted line supervision to Behavioral Health Technicians and their administrative, lab, and medication duties.
    • Oversee UA processing by maintaining supplies and inventory.
    • Oversees timely delivery of client medications.
    • Ensure proper destruction of discontinued medications.
    • Promote and perform annual employee flu shots.
    • Perform client and employee TB tests.
    • In support of a healthy and successful experience, provide a compassionate environment to support clients and their families.
    • Maintain a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; and participating in team problem-solving methods.
    • Complete necessary CEUs required to maintain clinical skill and knowledge.
    • Responsible and accountable for managing direct reports.
    • Preparation and presentation of performance evaluations
    • Provides objective feedback to employees.
    • Makes appropriate compensation recommendations, if applicable.          
    • Responsible and accountable for managing direct reports.
    • Provides appropriate training for department and hold staff accountable for attending required training.
    • Holds interviews for vacant positions and makes appropriately selects candidates to fill open positions.
    • Responsible for recommending and ensuring regulatory staffing patterns & managing annual budget.
    • Monitors adherence to company and department policies, procedures and practices.
    • Creates and supports a positive, professional, team-oriented, harassment free work environment by understanding and complying with the company’s policies.

    Qualifications

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • At least three years of supervisory experience.
    • Active unrestricted Florida Registered Nursing license.
    • Knowledge of health care, detoxification process, addiction, co-occurring disorders, DSM Criteria, and terminology.
    • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • If in personal recovery, a minimum of 2 years clean and sober.
