    Job Summary:

    The overall responsibility of the Laboratory Information System (LIS) System Analyst is to provide day to day technical support and maintenance of all laboratory information systems operating at both Addiction Labs of America and Sagenex Diagnostics laboratory.  These responsibilities include but are not limited to: technical support of LIS application software and hardware; technical support for SQL databases and server / network infrastructure; development and support of SQL queries; design and creation of clinical / business related reports using report writers; development and support of system and application interface and integration requirements; support of and participation in after-hours on-call.
    Report To:  Director, Laboratory Information Systems


    Job Duties:

    • Responsible for Orchard LIS support, testing, systems analysis and systems documentation.
    • Provides technical support of LIS hardware and network infrastructure.
    • Develops and supports SQL database, SQL queries and business/clinical related reports.
    • Develops and supports integration interfaces using HL7 interface standards.
    • Addresses and follows change management processes as they arise to ensure compliance and maintain integrity of application and systems build.
    • Provides application and system management support for event identification, event correlation, event escalation, and recovery.
    • Build credibility, establish rapport and maintain communication with stakeholders and business partners at multiple levels, including those external to the organization.
    • Provides remote support for external clients.
    • Responsible for creating and maintaining documentation and standards development.
    • Monitor LIS workflows to continually improve and optimize.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Medical Technologist or related field.
    • Experience will be considered in place of a degree.
    • Previous LIS application/system experience required (4+ years); Orchard Harvest/Copia is preferred.
    • Previous experience in a Systems Analyst or Systems Engineer role (4+years).
    • Strong technical skills including experience with SQL query / report development (4+years).
    • Previous experience supporting LIS server hardware and OS, network infrastructure (4+years).
    • Previous experience developing and supporting HL7 interfaces (4+ years).
    • Excellent skills with the MS Office suite. Strong MS Excel experience is a plus.
    • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations.
    • Strong problem solving, analytical skills, and the ability to follow problems and issues through completion.
    • MT, PA or clinical experience is a plus.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with customers, vendors, peers, and management.
    • Ability to work in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
    • Must be adaptable in a rapidly changing environment.
    • Must be able to multi-task effectively.
    • Candidates in recovery must have 2+ years of sobriety.
