    The Instructional Designer II  serves as educator, consultant, researcher, instructional and evaluation designer and interdisciplinary collaborator supporting the therapists, physicians and nursing organizational needs.

     

    Reports To: Manager of Learning and Development

    Responsibilities

    Job Duties:

    • Develops, documents and performs learning needs assessment for ensuring that learners are actively involved.
    • Project Management: Develops and communicates project plans; tracks timelines, resources and deliverables; prepares and delivers regular progress reports; proactively escalates dependencies, barriers, risks; plans and executes after-action reviews.
    • Application of instructional design methodologies to new curriculum and re-design/course audits (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation).
    • Provides educational interactive activities based on learning needs assessments, utilizing the right instructional design, training delivery, learning technology, and evaluation methodology to provide learning opportunities with high impact.
    • Use of a variety of assessment methods to be used before, during, and after training to measure the impact and success of training.
    • Consults/evaluates clinical practices and competence of staff to assure quality of care and identify problem areas
    • Consult with the Training Specialist to develop, deliver and implement training, in addition to conducting Train the Trainer sessions.
    • Proficiency writing course objectives that include a condition, task, and standard.
    • Acts as a patient advocate by ensuring that staff is practicing at the highest level of medical ethics and patient safety
    • Acts as a patient advocate by ensuring that staff is competent, and that care is safe, timely, collaborative, effective, efficient, equitable and patient-centered.
    • Strong instructional design, writing, oral communication skills, and attention to detail.
    • Plans, develops, implements and evaluates general and site specific orientation programs for professional.
    • Plans, develops, implements and evaluates educational programs for Healthcare Staff.
    • Educational expertise and innovative range in being able to provide hands-on or online education to the training team using all levels of multimedia and audiovisual technologies such as Photoshop, Premier Pro, Audition, etc.
    • Drive classroom and online based interactive, simulation and enhanced education maximizing acquisition and transfer of knowledge and skills into patient care using Lectora, Captivate and/or Camtasia.
    • Develops educational material for programs utilizing a variety of audiovisual and multimedia job aids.
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task several design requests simultaneously in a rapidly changing environment.
    • Experience creating and uploading new training eLearning classrooms and facilitator led classroom or conference in the Learning Management System.
    • Delivers competency-based nursing and on-boarding and continued education programs to enhance knowledge and skills engaging learners in critical thinking and problem solving.
    • Works in collaboration with Quality/Compliance and Human Resources to formalize annual mandatory training.
    • Demonstrates an advanced theoretical and technical knowledge based in clinical care and educational design.

    Qualifications

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an applicable field of English, Instruction Design, Counseling, Nursing or similar.
    • 3+ year’s experience designing and developing engaging instructor-led and online eLearning programs.
    • Proficiency with custom Microsoft templates, Adobe Captivate, Articulate Suite, Lectora, Camtasia.
    • Experience incorporating multiple media elements into learning programs including, audio, video, and animation using Photoshop, Premier Pro, In Design, Audition (Adobe Creative Suite).
    • Knowledge of adult learning methodologies.
    • Understanding of Taxonomy.
    • Experience using a SCORM compatible LMS to host content.
    • Demonstrated experience developing leadership and management training.
    • Expectation for continued professional development.
