  • Overview

    To provide evaluation, treatment and case management to substance abuse clientele in an outpatient setting.         


    Job Duties:

    • Provide assessment and evaluation of treatment appropriateness including a clear and accurate diagnosis.
    • Formulate effective treatment plan and conduct individual, group or family counseling and case management services.
    • Assure that all clinical documentation is in accordance with AdCare, DPH, JCAHO and other relevant standards as identified in their respective guidelines.
    • Maintain chart integrity including timely documentation as required for billing purposes.
    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with referral sources, Managed Care companies, EAP's, etc.
    • Provide case management services to patients as needed.
    • Assist with collection of co-pays and deductibles.
    • Provide peer review, consultation and supervision as appropriate.
    • Maintains good interdepartmental relations and provides in-service education as needed.
    • Provide office backup as necessary.
    • Supervise urine collections of same-gender patients when required.
    • Consistently arrive for work on time and adhere to attendance policies.

    Job Requirements:

    • CAC/CADAC preferred.  Independent License (LICSW, LMHC, LADC1) required. 
    • CPR required.
    • Masters Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field. If applicable, coursework or training for the treatment of the dually
    • Good interpersonal and time management skills.  Must be able to assess client needs and provide individual, group and/or family substance abuse counseling.
    • Minimum of two (2) years counseling experience; at least one (1) year in substance abuse counseling.  Managed care experience preferred.
    • Receives indirect or occasional supervision. Works towards a definite objective using a variety of methods or procedures. Plans and arranges own work and only refers to the supervisor for unusual matters, such as policy interpretations. Moderate flexibility.
    • Frequently makes decisions, which are restricted only by organization-wide policies and with little direct guidance from the supervisor.         
    • Must pass CORI check / OIG / GSA and pre-employment drug screen.
    • If in personal recovery, a minimum of two years continuous abstinence required.
