  • Overview

    The Clinical Supervisor II is responsible for the supervision of the outpatient clinical staff. This position must coordinate adequate clinical coverage for all shifts. Ensure that clinical practices are in compliance with AdCare’s policies, procedures, regulatory standards and clinical protocols. This position is involved in the review, development and enhancement of all treatment services. Will personally provide clinical services as necessary, in compliance with clinical and regulatory standards. Assists the Clinical Supervisor on daily functions of outpatient department.


    • Daily scheduling of clinical coverage of all levels of outpatient care, including open access.
    • Provides assessment and evaluation of treatment appropriateness, including a clear and accurate diagnosis.
    • Personally provides clinical service as necessary, in compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
    • Ensures outpatient department clinicians compliance with AdCare’s clinical policies.
    • Maintain chart integrity, including timely and accurate documentation.
    • Assures that all clinical documentation of supervised clinicians meets AdCare, DPH, Joint Commission and other relevant standards as identified.
    • Provides supervision, consultation and peer review as appropriate.
    • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with referral sources, Managed Care companies, EAP’s, etc.
    • Hires and trains new clinical staff on policies, procedures and protocols.
    • Works collaboratively with other department supervisors to ensure daily operations run cohesively.
    • Involved in the review, development and enhancement of all treatment services.
    • Supervise urine collection of same gender patients, when required.
    • Review of urine screens in absence of Clinical Supervisor.
    • Responsible for completing clinical staff evaluations.
    • Member of Quality Treatment Committee (QTC), and attends monthly meetings.
    • Performs office backup and other duties as necessary.

    • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
    • Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in human services with a minimum five (5) years in substance abuse treatment;
    • Previous supervisory experience preferred
    • Previous experience working with Managed Care and Referral Sources preferred
