    Core Job Duties & Responsibilities

    • Coordinate patient orientation for all new patients.
    • Conduct patient belongings search when new patient admitted.
    • Complete rounds and security checks.
    • Participate and coordinate patient’s daily schedule including treatment meetings, 1:1 counseling, group meetings, general security and curfew.
    • Provide support and encouragement to patients.
    • Assist patient to identify their personal interests, goals, strengths and weaknesses regarding recovery.
    • Actively identify and support linkages to community resources (communities of recovery, educational, vocational, social, cultural, spiritual resources, mutual self- help groups, professional services, etc.) that support the recovering person’s goals and interests. This will involve a collaborative effort including the patient, family and select facility staff.
    • Identify barriers (internal and external) to full participation in clinical programming and developing strategies to overcome those barriers.
    • Provide intervention, assessments (within scope of practice) and group counseling.
    • Initiate and provide family counseling services.
    • Provide clinical services to all patients as assigned by clinical manager.
    • Participate in weekly treatment team meeting and program staff meetings.
    • Ensure that all documentation necessary meet contract, licensure, accreditation and standards for services in a timely manner following the AAC’s documentation policy guidelines.
    • Communicate efficiently with other departments to ensure the best care for patient.
    • Provide clinical services to outpatient and inpatient adult population.
    • Understand and abide by State Department standards, facility accreditation, AAC’s policy and procedures.
    • Demonstate dependability and adaptability with patients and staff.
    • Maintains confidentiality of patient and company information.
    • Abide by the standards of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 guidelines.
    • Assists in monitoring and managing patient community as a therapeutic milieu.
    • Intervenes in crisis situations to deescalates and resolves crises.



    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Behavioral Sciences required (social work, counseling or psychology).
    • Alcohol and drug counseling certification or license.
    • Minimum of 2 year experience in a behavioral healthcare field.
    • Knowledge of utilizing electronic health record software and documentation.
    • Ability to read, write and interpret written information, type documentation, present information to groups and participate in meetings.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
    • Valid driver license and insurable driving record (If driving a company vehicle or if driving personal vehicle for company business; refer to Guidelines for Driving Company Vehicles).
