    Job Summary

    The Aging Specialist will be responsible to work outstanding insurance accounts for Facilities, Physician Practice groups and Laboratory services at Clinical Revenue Management Services.  In addition, he/she must follow all policies and procedures as outlined by the company and/or governmental regulations and according to HIPPA regulations.

    Responsibilities

     Job Duties:

    • Ability to work in a team setting.
    • Review and follow up on insurance accounts with outstanding balances. Determine the correct action to be taken to ensure maximum reimbursement and final resolution to the claim in a timely manner.
    • Responsible to assess and process all correspondence to include EOB’s for provided accounts as well as claim research on insurance online portals as needed.
    • Capable to work denials from the billing clearinghouses such as Zirmed, Availity, and Exchange Healthcare.
    • Initiate and follow up on claim appeals after all other efforts for payment have been exhausted as merited by insurance company.
    • Identify and correct billing errors and convey these issues with the billing team as well as complete cash application forms for the posting team in the event there are dates of services with incorrect posting information.
    • Review and prepare resubmission of claims for manual and/or electronic billing as well as print and mail claim forms as necessary for account resolution.
    • Work closely with the payment appeals department on low reimbursements of claims.
    • Communicate with client via email, mail and/or phone to obtain additional needed information for claim reimbursement. (such as COB updates, termed policies, incorrect insurance ID, etc)
    • Communicate immediately with supervisors on any insurance issues, trends or reimbursement setbacks that may affect cash flow by monitoring insurance accounts.
    • Work closely with management to assure communication of information necessary to ensure efficient processes are understood and implemented in accordance with policies and procedures.

    Qualifications

    Job Requirements:

    • High School Diploma, required.
    • Medical Billing Certificate, preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years' experience in medical collections, required.
    • Behavioral Health collections, preferred.
    • Extensive knowledge of insurance collections.
    • Strong communication skills. 
    • Accurate data entry skills while consistently working to improve error rate.
    • General math skills and statistical analysis to analyze information and problem solve.
    • Acts responsibly and follows professional code of conduct as set forth by senior personnel. 
    • Utilizes excellent computer skills and other technology and software as assigned.
    • Ability to work in a highly organized and efficient manner.
    • Maintains a high level of reliability, dedication and initiative.
    • Candidates in recovery must have 2+ years of sobriety.
