    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

     

    • Serves as a team member for the multi-disciplinary treatment planning process as requested.
    • Provides group therapy for patients and documents the process in the patient record in accordance with facility procedures.
    • Ensures that all documentation regarding patient care, treatment and incidents is done in a clear, concise and timely manner.
    • Provides an appropriate session format with clear objectives.
    • Keeps Director of Experiential Services, Clinical Director, and treatment team apprised of the patient(s) special needs and potential issues.
    • Provides individual sessions (as applicable) to patients as needed or requested by therapist and coordinates this session in respect to program schedule.  Documents the sessions in the patient record in accordance with facility procedures.
    • Participates in performance improvement activities, exhibits initiative by suggesting process changes with compliance supported by direct observation and input into supervision process.
    • Participates in clinical supervision as needed.
    • Completes skills assessments for patients with review/update at appropriate intervals.
    • Communicates relevant information to BHT’s and other staff.
    • Ensure safety of all patients
    • Participates in continuing education courses, as required by certifying organizations

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE SKILLS & ABILITIES

    • Bachelor's Degree or above in mental health, chemical dependency, psychology or social work, counseling, nursing or related field which includes a practicum in a health or human services agency, preferably a drug and alcohol setting.
    • One year of direct program experience preferred
    • Professional certification in area of practice within one year of employment
    • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training within 60 days of hire, and refreshed annually
    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support within 60 days of hire
    • Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training within 60 days of hire
    • American Heart Association Basic Life Support within 60 days of hire
    • Valid driver license and insurable driving record (If driving a company vehicle or if driving personal vehicle for company business)
    • If in personal recovery, a minimum of 2 years sustained recovery.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to stand, walk, reach, use hands and fingers, talk, hear, and smell continually. Ability to sit walk and reach frequently. Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch occasionally.
    • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
    • Close vision required to see computer monitor, read documents, and operate copy and fax machine. Distance vision required to drive an automobile.
    • Work environment is partially indoors and climate controlled. However, employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
    • Moderate noise levels as found in a business office with computer printers, households with TVs and dishwashers, and driving light traffic.
