    Job Summary

    The EMR System Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and configuration of the EMR/EHR system(s) and all ancillary systems supporting patient care. The EMR System Administrator will interact with various departments and roles (clinical staff, EMR support team, training and implementation team, facility leadership). This position requires active engagement with end-users to determine security profiles, system configuration, accessibility, order sets and template creation to tailor system features to meet company, facility and end-user requirements. This position is also responsible for providing post go-live 2nd-tier support to ensure end-user satisfaction and resolve reported issues.


    Duties and Responsibilities: to include but not limited to the following

    • Works with company and facility leadership and end-users to develop and complete system configuration (ongoing and for implementation of the system at new facilities).
    • Documents security settings and configures security groups and roles within system.
    • Provides users access in system according to roles and pre-assigned security group settings.
    • Develops, documents and tests templates (notes, assessments, reports) and order sets (clinical and medication batch orders) in system.
    • Ensures content additions, changes, bug fixes, upgrades, etc. work as designed.
    • Ensures content additions, changes, upgrades, etc. are communicated and incorporated in advance of deployment.
    • Works with Director of Clinical Applications to test and communicate new releases and functionalities prior to implementation and maintain testing environment.
    • Works with Director of Clinical Applications to analyze workflow and demand to ensure that the system optimizes productivity and accountability of users.
    • Provides go-live and post go-live support on issues relating to workflow problems and system configuration.
    • Develops and maintains system configuration manual/knowledge database that includes company protocols for clinical/medical order sets and templates (i.e. approval process for template creation/content adjustment prior to system configuration and deployment).



    • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
    • Minimum of 4 years’ experience managing Electronic Medical Record (EMR)/Electronic Health Record (EHR) system(s).
    • Behavioral health/healthcare experience strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in the addiction/behavioral health industry is preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

    • Knowledge of programming languages, database and operating systems.
    • Demonstrate ability to work independently or collaboratively and ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
    • Strong ability to identify potential issues and participate in their resolution.
    • Strong computer literacy and comfort, ability and desire to advance technically and understand industry standards.
