Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities: to include but not limited to the following

  • Reviews the assessment and VOB information for patients prior to admission, follow up if warranted.
  • Coordinates with Patient Financial Information & Benefits Coordinator on insurance/financial issues that may arise during admission.
  • Collects any payments at time of admission as requested.
  • Forwards all collections and associated documentation to call center.

  • Completes and updates forms in operating platforms with patients.
  • Answer phone calls; make appropriate referrals based on information given by caller.
  • Meets with patient to update COB’s and employment verifications as required.
  • Meets with patients to obtain proof of insurance premium payments.
  • Manage transportation requests, including drivers, car service scheduling and dispatching.
  • Meets with families at time of admission, answer any questions / concerns.
  • Maintains and develops required reports as requested by Director of Patient Services.
  • Meets with drivers daily to discuss and coordinate transportation/ conflicts.
  • Monitors and manages all email correspondence.
  • Maintain compliance with insurance contractual obligations.
  • Maintains compliance with AAC policies and procedures.
  • Maintains compliance with state regulations.
  • Supports and promotes an environment of Customer Service.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

 

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other related field preferred; or Bachelor’s Degree plus two years experience.
• Licensed counselor required.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in addiction and/or dual-diagnosis preferred.
• Previous experience conducting initial and concurrent insurance reviews required.
• Previous supervisory experience (minimum of one year) required.
• Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
• Ability to effectively multi-task and handle multiple competing priorities. Demonstrates good judgment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software.
