Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Business Development & Community Outreach Manager is expected to maintain, further develop and grow designated territories within the marketing region by managing a team of Representatives, representing the hospital in public forums and at various conferences. Directs the efforts of the marketing department and coordinates at the strategic level and tactical levels with Management and other AAC Marketers/Call Center. Works closely with the Admissions Department ensuring that referrals have their needs responded to appropriately and timely.

  • Holds interviews for vacant positions and appropriately selects candidates to fill open positions
  • Responsible for hiring, orienting, retention, coaching/monitoring all nursing staff.
  • Ensures timely preparation and presentation of performance evaluations and competencies.
  • Direct the development and continuous refinement of the facility's comprehensive business development plan, within the scope of the changing health care environment including directing, supervising, and evaluating the work activities of the Business Development Representatives.
  • Develop and implement monthly and annual strategies, and evaluates results correspondingly, conferring with Senior Management, other Department Heads and staff members, as necessary. Regularly measures the AdCare’s community image and advises the CEO of any development in the community or with referral sources that may have an impact on AdCare. Continually evaluates the effectiveness of the business development performance against market constraints, changes and revises the business development plan as appropriate.
  • Develops appropriate analysis and reporting mechanisms, provides data and statistics as required.
  • Works with the Director of Admissions and is familiar with the admissions criteria of the programs at AdCare to accurately represent AdCare to referral sources. Maintain business development referral admission records and statistics, including the preparation of business development reports and materials.
  • Target and create new strategies for increasing business in a highly competitive market.
  • Maintain and develop key business development accounts and respond to all business development opportunities. Develop and implement community workshops and seminars, held at the facility or in the community.
  • Implements and follows up of all promotional efforts relevant to any marketing plans including expenses for direct mail, ( employee newsletter and alumni newsletter) personal sales efforts, and public relations such as press releases, LinkedIn, Facebook, alumni events. Identifies new health education as they relate to chemical dependency and  mental health issues which will meet a community need and/or enhance the community’s awareness of existing programs and services.
  • Maintains a close working relationship with the Medical Staff, the Board of Governors, Intake Director, Program Managers and other administrative personnel and external professional groups and agencies.
  • Completes a month-end report/quarterly goals report and competitive analysis; distributes to the CEO/Board of Directors and appropriate staff in a timely manner. Provides Corporate with all requested reports and participates in marketing/development calls with Corporate.
  • Research designated territory for viable business opportunities.
  • Identifies new competitive agencies coming into our region of business. Makes recommendations to the CEO for unserved regions where there is a potential to increase services.
  • Monitor Salesforce to ensure that Reps are recording all activity enabling real-time reporting against performance expectations.
  • Develop individual targets for each territory treatment consultant such that goals fall within the overall business. development plan for territory and region.
  • Ensures that all administrative tasks such as entering Expensify expenses and approval of payroll into UltiPro are completed timely.
  • Responsible and accountable for managing direct reports.
  • Monitors adherence to company and department policies, procedures and practices.
  • Creates and supports a positive, professional, team-oriented, harassment free work environment by understanding and complying with the company’s policies.
  • Keep staff updated of any/all AAC & AdCare pertinent changes.
  • Participates in the New Hire Hospital Orientation by speaking on the Importance of Customer Service.
  • Treats patients, and colleagues with dignity and respect; honors each person’s right to privacy/ maintains very strict patient and colleague confidentiality; respects all individual differences; supports cultural diversity.
  • Notifies CEO for time out of the facility and how and who will be covering for absences.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • BA, MA preferred in business or equivalent experience
  • Exceptional knowledge of SUD and the ability to speak about treatment
  • 5 years in of experience in a health care business development leadership role
  • Excellent interpersonal & written communications skills; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
  • Skilled at creating and executing prospecting strategies for discovering new accounts
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Salesforce and other basic programs
  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritize work for self and staff
  • Ability to craft a solution using appropriate regional services in order to address patient and facility needs.
  • Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude and high energy.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills and is able to address difficult referral concerns.
  • Must possess the ability to forecast business streams for budgeting and bring in new business/insurance contracts
  • Must be able to travel/drive about the marketing region to meet with prospective referrals. Ability to write routine reports and execute general correspondence.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Valid driver's license, and ability pass MVR check

Other Work Requirements:

  • Occasional local travel may be required.
  • Expected hours of work: Full-Time, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Hours May Fluctuate, Must Be Available and Responsive During Evening, After Hours, and Weekends
