Job Summary

 

To perform all duties related to the preparation of meal service items according to standard operating procedures for quality assurance.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Open/Close kitchen each day
  • Perform required prep work for next day’s food production according to      production sheet and as assigned.
  • Set up and attractively display all prepared food items on the cafeteria line and   patient tray line.
  • Assist in the preparation and service of the patient tray line, employees food, and admitting meals, as well as late trays.
  • Food prepared and cooked using appropriate sanitation measures.
  • Stores all food items properly securely wrapped and dated and updates the freezer list as needed.
  • Utilizes food supplies and leftovers properly.
  • Maintains work area and equipment according to sanitation measures.
  • Assist in training new cooks
  • Present food in an attractive and eye appealing manner.
  • Assist in cafeteria as needed as server or cashier.
  • Assist in the dishroom in the evening as needed.
  • Assist in receiving and checking in deliveries as needed.

Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

  • Serve Safe (Sanitation) Certification required within three (3) months of hire.

  • Minimum of two years in food production.
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English.
