Job Summary

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) COVID sample collector (Temp to Hire) will provide support services that ensure the laboratory runs smoothly.  They are responsible for administrative as well as clinical tasks, such as collecting patient samples, maintaining patient records, preparing patients and room for collection services.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect laboratory samples
  • Maintain COVID scheduling phone and schedule patient appointments
  • Observe and report patient’s condition
  • Effectively label and process patient samples
  • Organize exam room, including general cleaning, upkeep and restocking of supplies
  • Support the clinical lab staff with sample intake and accessioning. This will entail following all relevant SOPs in logging newly received samples into the Orchard databases.
  • Verifies aspects of incoming samples and access acceptability of the sample testing.
  • Resolve and document incomplete or unacceptable specimens.
  • Aliquot specimens and manage sample storage inventory.
  • Create sample batches and print labels and label tubes and batches.
  • Perform, as needed, equipment maintenance and maintain equipment logs and records.
  • Support the administrative functions of the lab as required.
  • Monitor and record temperatures as needed
  • Clean racks, and other laboratory supplies.
  • Work closely with the Medical Technologists to provide consistent and ongoing support to the entire team.
  • Perform other miscellaneous laboratory duties as assigned and assist others as times allows.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • College Degree preferred
  • Minimum 1+ year experience in medical setting
  • Excellent leadership, motivation, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead a fast-paced, dynamic team
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must maintain a high level of personal accountability and have sound problem solving skills.
