Job Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of the general ledger and performs other accounting duties related to month-end close cycle including review and management of senior and staff level accountants. This individual also assists the Director of Accounting with the external audit, external party data requests, and other projects as assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversees and manages company’s general ledger activity
• Supervises, trains, and develops senior and staff level accounting personnel
• Monitors, reviews, and maintains proper controls and separation of duties within accounting
• Assists Director of Accounting/Controller with ad hoc financial data requests
• Prepares cash flow and liquidity related reports for Director of Accounting
• Maintains partnerships with other finance and corporate departments
• Manages and reviews various balance sheet reconciliations
• Reviews and posts journal entries related to month end close activities
• Reviews periodic variance analysis and reports notable activity to management
• Assists Director of Accounting with technical accounting research as needed
• Responsible and accountable for managing direct reports
• Preparation and presentation of performance evaluations of direct reports
• Monitors adherence to company and department policies, procedures and practices
• Creates and supports a positive, professional, team-oriented, harassment free work environment by understanding and complying with the company’s policies
• Other Job Duties – As Assigned

Education/Experience:

• CPA Required
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting, prior supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Experience with accounting general ledger ERP software, experience with Financial Force preferred.
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions; demonstrates group presentation skills; and participates in meetings.
