Job Summary

The Director of Outpatient Services is responsible for managing outpatient staff and operations of the North Dartmouth, MA & Warwick, RI, outpatient clinics. Provides direct, primary alcohol and drug counseling to persons with primary diagnosis of alcohol/drug addiction and provides clinical supervision to direct report clinicians.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure appropriate staffing from recruitment through orientation, ongoing performance management, competency assessments and training.
  • Personally provide clinical services as necessary in compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure compliance with AdCare Policies and Procedures (both administrative and clinical).
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with referral sources, Managed Care companies, EAPs etc.
  • Functions as a liaison ensuring cooperation and effective interdepartmental relations.
  • Oversees all treatment services including evaluations, individual counseling, group, day and evening treatment.
  • Coordinates marketing and development of the Outpatient programs with Community Services.
  • Ensure and assist with the collection of co-pays and deductibles.
  • Provide office backup as necessary.
  • Ensure maintenance of office equipment and notify of issues with building maintenance.



  • Masters in Psychology or related field.
  • Independent License (LICSW, LMHC, PH.D or PSY. D), CAC/CADAC, and CPR.
  • Candidate must have good interpersonal, administrative and clinical skills including oral and written communication, analytical, assessment and facilitation skills.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in human services with a minimum of 2 years in substance abuse treatment.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Experience working with managed care companies and referral sources required.
