Responsibilities

Per Diem  5:30am-7:30am includes every other weekend and 1-2 days per week

Job Duties:

  • Draws blood with skill.
  • Prepare blood drawing trays with adequate and proper supplies.
  • Explains Patient the phlebotomy procedure to be performed.
  • Confirms patient’s identity by matching name and medical record on patient wrist band with requisition slip and asking patient for his/her name and date of birth.
  • Containers are properly labeled by writing patient’s last and first name and DOB and/or applying patient sticker on blood drawing tubes legibly and without error.
  • Mixes blood drawing tubes as indicated by manufacturer’s protocol.
  • Applies gauze with paper tape, or band-aid, after blood draws and when bleeding stops

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma and certificate of completion from a recognized program for training in phlebotomy school preferred.
  • Completion of a certified phlebotomy course from a recognized program and ASCP certification preferred
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service and manual dexterity
  • Must have a minimum 1 year phlebotomy experience
  • If in personal recovery, a minimum of one year continuous abstinence required.

All positions require a TST, MMR Titer, and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a CORI background records check
